Docker from published images

Use this path when you have the executable lens file and want published images. Complete the shared prerequisites first. Put lens in a new installation directory and make it executable. Prepare your GitHub login and a personal access token with read:packages permission.

From that directory, run:

./lens setup

Outside a git checkout, setup pulls the release this lens file was built for and prints the --init it chose. For another release, name it: ./lens setup --init ghcr:<version>. Setup records the release, so later commands do not repeat it. To move the installation to another release later, run ./lens start --init ghcr:<version>.

Setup asks for the GitHub login and token, and does not store the token in .novuslens.env. The installer keeps its registry login in the private file .novuslens-registry.json, for later deployments and resumes.

Follow the setup questions. Wait for the printed sign-in address, then sign in with the operator account. If an image download fails, check registry access and run ./lens resume.

For unattended setup, set NOVUSLENS_ADMIN_PASSPHRASE, GHCR_TOKEN and GITHUB_ACTOR in the environment, and OPENROUTER_API_KEY for the default model server. Then run ./lens setup --defaults. Setup settings lists the defaults it accepts.
